CONTACTLESS TECHNOLOGY

CONTACTLESS TECHNOLOGY

If your a Barclay’s customer’s, then I’d say your a pretty lucky customer. If your wondering why then here’s why. From now on when you need to buy stuff under 10 pounds all you have to do it touch your card to a reader and walk away. It’s like the oyster card but only this time your in a coffee shop and standing a long queue with angry customers behind you. Don’t have wait and look for change or wait your chip and pin card accept your payment, touch and walk away.
How will this change our attitude towards shopping. For anything under 10 pounds, it going to begin to look cheap and you might end up with hundreds and hundreds of 10 pound bills on the floor of your house and hair on fire. Yup, since its so easy to do it, people will tend to touch their card for every small expense and for every small unnecessary thing that will keep adding up to an enormous bill that were not keeping track of. But don’t you worry you needn’t bother if your a shop-o-holic.But talking about it more optimistically, it saves precious seconds for those stock brokers who need to rush up to the market or for those who run on tight schedules. This card is already successfully being used across a 1000 shops in London. Coffee shops especially find the technology a relieve as it helps eliminating frustration that their early morning customers have. It will support services in London to grow faster. Well to be honest, everyone is going have one, not only Barclay’s, and soon people are going to find even this technology slow and will later on demand something faster. I don’t know what better technology can you come up with, think and buy maybe?
Here it is, future of quicky shopping, like or not (I’m sure you do) that’s they future of your plastic money, quick and efficient. Think about it, grab a sandwich and coffee, touch the card and catch your bus on time. PERFECT :D

You will truly be able to discover the unusual, the beautiful and the “different” kind of trip of your dreams.

Just to mention a few such attractions, what would you say to visiting the Sloss Furnaces industrial complex in Birmingham Alabama? At this website, you can find everything. You can also search for attractions and oddities, as there is a special search option by state, by city or even checking out what others recommend. There is a sight of the week section, which is a recommendation, more like an editor’s pick (the team at roadsideamerica suggests these places).

Speech Recognition Works

Speech Recognition Works

As important as an antivirus for mac might be to you, in due course so shall speech recognition software. Speech recognition technology has a pretty simple process: what we say is turned into written text and thus we can see it on the display of our computer. It sounds simple, but the technology behind this may be more complicated. Years ago, the technology was not as reliable as researchers wanted it, but today it is a far better technology widely used by pc owners. But how does it actually work?

With the help of a microphone connected to the computer, audio signals are transformed into digital data. For this to happen, the computer must come with a very good sound card, a high-speed CPU (Central Processing Unit) and enough memory (RAM).

When you talk through your microphone, your voice is converted to analog signal. In turn, the analog signal is transformed into digital data by the soundcard. The binary system is the main helper in the equation, because computers actually cannot process the data in any other way then with the help of the programming language. Given the fact that a computer is a digital unit with a plastic carse, it cannot listen to what we say, but only record it and process it.

When this phase is over, recognition starts. This means, that the computer has a database with certain amount of words stored and when it picks up something similar to what it has in this database, it will display the word (the matching process). Many people have adopted such software as a basic technology and help with their work. It is much easier to speak rather than to type which can become quite tiresome.

There are a large number of such programs available on the market, some having only a basic capability, while others being quite professional. The better such a program, the more it will cost, but for people having to do a lot of typing work, such software can be very useful and advantageous.

TABLE TOP PC

TABLE TOP PC

If you are gamer and you regularly follow games, you would already seen the tabletop PC. It’s been used in the first tabletop integrated game R.U.S.E. Strategy gamers are used to using the mouse as their key tool for gaming however, there will be no more mice and no more keyboards, it will be fully hands on.
Microsoft has shown off its tabletop in 2007 and had target a 4 to 5 years as to when the product will hit the market. It will probably be in full scale sale by next year. Simple things can be done in seconds. The tabletop also aims to eliminate wires regardless of whether Microsoft thought of that or not. It only your hands that you will be using to interact with the PC. What more interesting is that your phone and other portable electronics can be read and interacted with by simply placing them on the screen. The table has small camera’s beneath the surface which reads what you place on the screen and in turn displays out all its information for you. Buying things online is much easier from there on. Order your entire shopping cart from Asda, place you credit card on the table and simply sign the bill, job done. Don’t have to enter all the annoying small details that you need to fill out before you can purchase anything. since movement of your hands is what counts, your pictures, films, word documents can simply be turned and twisted however you like it, its like literally holding them in your hands.
Well, here it is. I my opinion, by the end of 2011, we will see companies starting mass production on these products. Start saving up some cash and DON’T GO IMMEDIATELY BUY ONE, instead wait out for it to realise its problems and after maybe 6 months buy your first very own table top. It would be best to keep your eyes on net root if your in London, they would catch the product and its details before it’s launched.

REACTABLE

REACTABLE

If you a DJ and you had dream’t of those days where you cab get rid of all those wire and getting something that’s more creative and smooth to use. Something that you can use to create music just a touch of screen, well, its been made. Two Spanish and 2 Austrians came together to make this unbelievably cool technology where music can be put together but merely place cube of data on a circular tabletop which reads signals plays tunes.
The Reactable is user friendly device which can be used to train new DJ’s with ease. Forget remembering all those abbreviations that appear on your DJ software, this is something that requires shear sense of music. Small blocks that contain the musical sounds are placed on the screen which in turn play the tune, simultaneously other blocks can used with one another to build-up the music. The frequency can be turned up and down by just pivoting the block on the table. Simple movements like these make the device ingenious and simple to use. It product isn’t an idea based to technology but a technology based on an idea. In the sense that there was no pre-existing tech that made it easier for them to make it but instead they had a vision in their mind and had to find a way to build it. The table can used for live performances as well as music production. Its compatible with all sorts of other crazy equipment that you have and also much easier to set up. Forget about all those countless wires you need to carry with you, from now on its just a table a few cubes. The best part is 2 or even 3 people to jump in the middle of a song and add their own tunes to make things more interactive, other than sitting and reading the quantum physics for running a DJ table.
Well here it is, the future of DJ’ing with a breakthrough technology that will change the face of music. Well its about time you got rid of that secondhand audi of your to afford one of these.

Oh lord won’t you buy me a new used laptop……

Oh lord won’t you buy me a new used laptop......

Its one of the ten commandments ’though shalt not covet thy neighbor’s ass’this has been widely translated into ’thy shalt not covet thy neigbor’s wife’. In this day and age, it should and rightly does include laptops. Laptops say more about a person than their hairstyle, clothes and shoes put together.
I suppose I am bitter, because I have traded my secondhand laptop look, for my secondhand pushchair look. No longer a hip media type, I am a dishevelled Mama. This could not have been more apparent than when I went into the information hub of the Liverpool Biennial, it was really fabulous. My old favourite DIY store had been transformed. There were several garden shed, it was covered in fake grass and scattered with picnic benches. On the one side, the media types, getting the most of the free wifi in their black skinny jeans. On the other, me, no longer excited by wifi but by the promise of a play area. The most exciting thing was the little shed with the wooden trains, small blackboards, box of chalk and a stack of cushions (and of course a cup of coffee for only one pound thirty-five!).
I am in the middle of an identity crisis. My hip media days are over. I can’t lounge in public places looking interesting and important with my sleek little machine. And even though years of breast feeding and baby care have taken their toll on my braincells,I still use words that are too big to enable me to blend in seamlessly with the mummy set.

Battlefield Bad Company

Battlefield Bad Company

Nowadays, PS3 and Xbox have definitely replaced our old PCs and laptops but probably there is a good reason for that – quality. And Battlefield Bad Comany is just a proof of how amazing the PS3 and Xbox games can be. The game is a true graphical and gameplay masterpiece that gives you the perfect amount of action every time you touch the controller.

The game is, as usual, devloped and published by EA Games and is part of the well know series Battlefield. However, this time the action takes place in the near future. Again the usual suspects for war opponents would prove to be the main acting forces in the game – the fictional game between Russia and the US would the main scene where you would act as a soldier of either the Western or the Eastern forces (seriosuly, the whole US – Russia fictional wars thing seems to be so distributed that we actually start asking ourselves whether this is not really happening now). The campaign’s plot is focused on a small group of US soldiers that would be stuck in the battlefield. Being a real bunch of troublemakers, these guys are called Bad Company, something that is quite similiar to the special forces’nickname ’expandables’. As a member of that really hostile company your one and only job would be to complete the tasks and, of course, kill as many Russians as you can.

The game truly is amazing – not only because of the plot which, no matter how ordinary it sounds, is just perfect for us – we always need action, but also because of its fascinating graphic effects and design patterns and gameplay approaches. Playing it would be just the perfect entertainment for every game lover so get yourselves PSs or Xboxs and forget about your laptops – they will not run that spectacular masterpiece of war gaming.
